  Ric is a former Journalist and Foreign Correspondent who ran newsrooms in various places and for the last few years worked as a lecturer part-time at QUT University in Brisbane. Gill was a senior Fashion Buyer for a large UK company, but became more interested in working with organisations that do some good in the community.
  We jumped off the treadmill relatively early, met 12-years ago in South America while we were doing voluntary work, and have been managing to balance our lives ever since with some less stressful paid work, voluntary work and lots of travel.
  We are fit, healthy, tidy, non-smoking, and reasonably handy around house and garden.  We feel equally comfortable in big cities and the bush and like to divide our time between the two.
  We genuinely like animals of all sorts - having grown up with dogs, cats, sheep and the odd budgie but our desire to keep travelling through our fifties and onwards means we can't keep our own pets.
  As travel and change are a big part of our lives, we are pretty flexible about times and places.  We have a 4WD with a slide-on camper that takes us just about anywhere around Australia.  We spent last year in the Grampians, Victorian Alps, Adelaide, Woodend - Victoria, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
  Having sold our home, we are trying a number of new locations around Australia before deciding where we would like to buy again.
  We are honest and reliable and will look after your home, garden and loved pets with genuine care and respect.

  We are a married couple travelling with our three children aged 7 years, 8 years, and 9 months. We have been home-owners in Adelaide for many years but decided to hit the road in December to live a nomadic lifestyle for a while, moving around the eastern states of Australia. We want to see as many different areas as we can over the next 12 or so months, and would love to look after your house and animals for you on our travels. We are looking for housesits of any length, ideally one to six weeks. Our timetables are very flexible, so if you have a house/animals you would like us to care for please contact us and we'll see what we can do... (Initial plan is to be in Vic/Tas for a few months, then head up the coast to Vic, NSW and Queensland, then back down again)
  We intend to build our own home once we settle down again, and have a keen interest in environmentally friendly structures. We would love to stay in alternative housing (housesitting in an earthship or a structure built from strawbale, cob or any other green method would be great).

• Hi, my name is Yvonne Gibson and I am a very friendly, mature, happy, responsible, non-smoking person who has been house-sitting now for a few months and loving it. After renting for 4 years without any problems and having referees for all places rented or house-sat, I am finding it very exciting as I love meeting people and this is certainly a good way of expanding friendship. • I am a semi retired female who enjoys travel and new experiences, and a non smoker, non drinker.  I have previously worked as a nanny with sole care and responsibility for maintaining their precious household, children and animals, while the parents were overseas for several weeks at a time so consequently I have a nationwide police clearance. I own my own house on the Gold Coast, and I have a wonderful family and grandchildren, but I do need to have a break now and then.  I have had a sitter mind my place for three months when I visited my son in China, and I had the thought "I should be doing this".
  I have always had my own little dog, but he died and I have not got another one yet, so I have total empathy for how you feel leaving you little animals, with someone who cares..  I feel at this time of my life I have a great opportunity to explore.. I am happy to do my yoga and meditation, I paint and read a lot and luxuriate in that as when I am home I am usually very busy and unwind time is a rarity, so your animals would have fairly constant company, and I would love to look after your little friends, and would respect your home as my own.  I am available now for short or longer term stays.

• We are Rodney(64yrs) & Rose(50yrs) and we hail from Adelaide. Rose was born in the Philippines, has lived here for 27years and has been an Australian citizen for 19years. I am a retired geophysicist, and in 2004 Rose closed a successful house cleaning service to join me in retirement.
  We have four children, two boys and two girls, aged from 21 thro' 31yrs and all now living independently...
  We have over the past few years sat 'upmarket' homes for friends and acquaintances, and we come with excellent references incl police clearance. We are animal lovers and have always had dogs and cats of our own, not to mention rabbits and guinea pigs in the early days...
  We enjoy yoga, isometrics and tai chi regularly every morning for some years now. we walk each day, and also ride push bikes, play table tennis and fish, but primarily we surf.
  Since 2004 we have been spending 6 to 8 months of each year, the southern winter, on a tropical beach on the western pacific rim, north of the equator, in a home rented by us. A small eco-frontier island, Calicoan island belongs to the Philippines. Great surf out front is the reason we are there.
  In the northern winter, November thro' April, the north east monsoons blow on our weather coast, 'spoiling' the surf and the ambience. That is when we come home to see our family and friends.
  In early 2007 we sold our Moana beach house in S.A. to give us more options in our retirement.
  We sponsor local village kids thro' primary and secondary school, and teach them to surf with equipment that would otherwise not be available to them. In the tropics we are both writing, short stories and an autobiography. In between surf's we kayak, read, make shell jewellery and enjoy siesta's.
